Mas d’en Gil Agredolç from Catalonia, Spain is a “sour-sweet Mas d’en Gil” wine vinegar with layered, complex flavors that reflect both its long barrel-aging and its origins in great wine. Mas d’en Gil winery is located in Priorat, a region famous for its voluptuous (and expensive) red wines made from Carignan and Grenache grapes. In fact, Mas d’en Gil wines regularly receive scores in the 90s from Robert Parker and other wine critics. It is from these excellent wines that Agredolç Wine Vinegar is made—and great wine makes great wine vinegar.
Florence Fabricant of The New York Times loves Mas d’en Gil too: “Copper-colored Mas d’en Gil, from Priorat, south of Barcelona, is more tart than sweet; use it to enliven a quick weeknight pan sauce for chicken or pork.”
